Seeing as we are in the heart of summer, and baseball season for that matter, Bull Durham (1988) is certainly worthy of a viewing, or a repeat. Writer/Director Ron Shelton has a long line of high quality hits focused around celebrating both a given sport and a romance between its main characters. 

In this timeless classic, Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon, and Tim Robbins star against the backdrop of the struggles in minor-league baseball. 

Outside of some of his more memorable dramas, this ranks among Costner's best work as the witty, acerbic, rough-around-the-edges veteran catcher, Crash Davis.
