From Way Downtown at The Oracle

Along with Adobe, Oracle also reports earnings tonight after the bell. Both firms are mature tech plays with plenty of price memory we have at our disposals.

On the ORCL monthly chart, below, for example, note how the name marginally broke its prior dot-com bubble highs in late-2014/2015, only to then relinquish those gains.

However, sellers did not muster very much in the way of a downside rejection. Instead, Larry Ellison's baby simply marked time sideways in the low-$40s for nearly two years now.

So, a breakout here with an earnings gap higher would likely add even more credence to the calls for a new bull run. what with old tech coming back to life above prior dot-com highs.

More in my recap after the bell.
