This Hurricane Florence Play is Not Such a Quanta Leap

With Hurricane Florence gathering steam over the Atlantic Ocean and apparently headed towards North Carolina, backup generator play GNRC is higher by nearly 6% on heavy buy volume as I write this. GNRC was a name we have been stalking with Members, even without a hurricane the chart was still impressively basing in an uptrend before today's pop.

But with GNRC a bit tough to chase here, another play to watch is ENR (batteries), not to mention Quanta Services (with the appropriate ticker PWR), seen on the daily chart, below.

PWR engages in post-storm emergency cleanup around the country to provide complete power restoration.

The daily timeframe is sporting a potential "diamond" bottoming pattern and may very well be ripe to run into Florence's landfall later this week. True, this is not an ideal or even clean chart. But hurricanes can offer up quick trades, especially if Florence does not fizzle out anytime soon before landfall.
