All My Electricity Lives in Texas
While there are various angles to playing the brutal cold snap and rolling blackouts across the country, especially in Texas, the main thing to remember is that various locales are not used to snow and will be clamoring for rock salt for the roads we hear more and more about horrifying multi-car pileups.
CMP, below on its daily chart, specializes in rock salt and should be in a good spot to supply the governments at municipal and state levels with the chemicals to make the roads at least somewhat safer. I want to see this $66 level hold into the breakout attempt today.
I also went long natural gas on Friday for another pop, as I suspect natty, as volatile as it is, may finally be turning a corner.
Finally, TSLA lagging and probing its $800 level as we speak is nothing something I would dismiss--The stock has too much overlap now to the S&P 500, crypto, ARKK, and general momentum plays. Combined with rates spiking higher, those are likely the two biggest risks which could reverse this daily melt-up in equities.
