Going Solo on This One; Chess Moves
First off, I just sold a piece of my SRS long at $12.63 here from $12.03 posted earlier this week to scale some gains. I now retain about 75% of my original position, with a stop-loss still below $11.50 on this ultra-short REITs ETF.
Next, I went short FB at $80.19 with a cover-stop over $83, a contrarian play and looking to swing it.
FB is understandably a loved name these days, and shorting it has a lone wolf feel to it, with its strong stock performance since emerging in the summer of 2013. I traded the short side for a loss back in late-2014, then for a win in January of this year.
This time around, I am playing under the same theory or a running rising wedge breakdown.
The weekly chart, below, highlights the wedge. Simply put, I will know if I am wrong if price slides back over this week's highs. If I am correct, we should see rejection in short order early next week.
Current positions: Long ERY, Long SRS; Short CAT, Short FB, Short LVS.
