Based on the 1925 story of the same name by Agatha Christie, Witness for the Prosecution (1957) is well worth a viewing.
Directed by the legendary Billy Wilder, this film pulls off the formidable courtroom drama genre (with a splash of noir elements), a concept which seems easy in theory but which is often difficult to turn into a quality feature-length film.
Without question, this is a classic all the way around, headlined by great acting courtesy of Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich, Charles Laughton. All three of those actors pull off performances capturing unique characters caught up in a dark web.
