Saturday Night at Market Chess Cinemas

Based on the 1925 story of the same name by Agatha Christie, Witness for the Prosecution (1957) is well worth a viewing.

Directed by the legendary Billy Wilder, this film pulls off the formidable courtroom drama genre (with a splash of noir elements), a concept which seems easy in theory but which is often difficult to turn into a quality feature-length film.

Without question, this is a classic all the way around, headlined by great acting courtesy of Tyrone Power, Marlene DietrichCharles Laughton. All three of those actors pull off performances capturing unique characters caught up in a dark web.
