John Law and the Mississippi Bubble

Yesterday we looked at the famous "South Sea Bubble," which has seen many analogies of late to the Bitcoin/crypto craze. Today, we will look at John Law and the Mississippi Bubble, with two educational videos about one of finance’s most famous people and events. The first one is a thorough explanation and quite fascinating. The second one is an animated, shorter video to perhaps show to your kids, courtesy of the National Film Board of Canada. 

I am not posting these videos because I believe Bitcoin is in a similar epic bubble, per se. Instead, they off good history lessons during a holiday week and are quite interesting for those involved with markets of any kind.
