All-American Metals

While I remain long-term bullish on some global material mining giants like BHP (Australia) and PKX (South Korea), it is hard not to look out to the coming midterm elections in November and consider that President Trump (and VP Pence) will be pushing the "American worker" in the midwest theme hard, once again.

And if that happens, some domestic-based firms like Ryerson Holding Corporation, a metal processor and distributor, offering more than 65,000 varieties of stainless, aluminum, carbon and alloys in all shapes and sizes, would be a candidate for, well, the political candidates to show off and campaign.

Politics aside, of course, RYI is just one of the several overlooked domestic materials firms we want to track closely, especially given the improving technicals seen on RYI's daily chart, below, with the stock bull-flagging nicely at the moment.

All eyes are usually on X or even AKS, but RYI makes for a nice stealth play.

And then there is the inflation angle, with the potential for a new cyclical move higher in virtually all commodities which, again, makes RYI all the more attractive.
