Available on Amazon Prime, Bravo! Common Men, Uncommon Valor (2011) is easily one of the best full-length documentaries I have seen in quite a few years.
Kudos to co-directors Ken Rodgers and Betty Rodgers (with Ken as the writer) for brilliantly and seamlessly weaving together the stories of fifteen former Marines and Navy Corpsmen who tell their tales of battle, fear, and survival at the 77-day Siege of Khe Sanh in Vietnam, 1968.
For reference, the infamous Battle of Khe Sanh is considered to be the longest, deadliest, and most controversial of the already-controversial Vietnam War, as the U.S. Marines and their allies took on a much larger North Vietnamese Army.
In all candor, the Vietnam War has generally not been a focus of my interest in military history for a variety of reasons. But this quality of this work is undeniable, and it is worth a viewing regardless of your level of interest in military conflicts, too.
