Recently released digitally on March 29, 2019, on Netflix, The Highwaymen gives a fresh perspective on well-known phase of America during the Great Depression. The film follows Frank Hamer and Maney Gault (Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson, in top acting form), two Texas Rangers who attempt to track down and apprehend notorious criminals Bonnie and Clyde in the 1930s.
I found the film stylish, gritty, and well done. This is the best original Netflix full-length film I have seen from them, thus far. To be sure, Bonnie and Clyde (1967) is also excellent, starring Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and Gene Hackman. But that is all the more reason for The Highwaymen to tell another angle to the story, this one from law enforcement's side.
