Sunday Matinée at Market Chess Cinemas
Directed by the great John Ford (based on the 1954 novel by Alan Le May of the same name), set during the Texas–Indian wars, and starring John Wayne as a middle-aged Civil War veteran who spends years looking for his abducted niece (Natalie Wood), The Searchers (1956) is a classic John Wayne picture.
This is a slice of Americana if there ever was one.
As a Civil War veteran spends years searching for a young niece captured by Indians, his motivation becomes increasingly questionable.
