You Know What That Makes These Bulls?
"Lollygaggers!"
All kidding aside, it remains tough to fully embrace these bounce attempts in equites as long as TLT holds green. Heck, it was tough to even partially embrace the bounce attempt, as I went back to full cash yesterday and took off two tester longs I had.
Simply put, until bonds ease off during this particular cycle it is very likely that swing longs have a tough time virtually across the board. True, it is sexy to point out a relative standout like WING in the fast-casual space.
But for every one WING there are plenty of growth stocks in need of more time to reset, even if they do not crater. Recall that we are looking for quality risk/reward trades to profit, not merely those stocks which simply fail to get destroyed.
Hence, if bulls continue to lollygag during these tepid bounce attempts it is going to be a long slog until Jackson Hole next week, if not Labor Day.
Also note that TLT flipping red at some point this week may not be a silver bullet for stocks, either, as we saw some seriously heavy selling yesterday, wiping out recent subtle bull talking points about lighter sell volume on Monday of this week.
At this point, my focus is on exercising extreme patience with equities, while getting more interested in reentering gold miners as they keep firming up nicely.
