Welcome to the Roaring Twenties with a Jittery Jitterbug Market

You wanted the Roaring Twenties in this century? You got it!

Complete with exhilarating moves in the stock market last week against the backdrop of aggressive news flow we have a jittery market which seems like it is doing the "Jitterbug" dance more than anything else both overnight with the futures and this morning in the cash session. We have the indices lurching in both directions intraday today, with the sort of blink-and-you-missed-it moves we have not see in a good while.

The good news for bulls is that as I write this, the small caps in the IWM ETF are back firmly in the green after flashing red earlier. To my eye, the $147-$149 area is proving to be the battleground early on this week to clear if bulls are to sustain a relief rally beyond a mere few moments.

Beyond that, the GILD for FTSV buyout in biotech had a fat premium and ought to embolden bulls here, as should the strength in momentum leaders like SPCE and TSLA. I also have an eye on the gold miners snapping back after likely swept up in the selling late-last week as a source of liquidity, if nothing else.

Overall, despite the jittery price moves we are seeing some encouraging signs, albeit with the caveat that bulls must, and I mean must, avoid the dreaded late-day swoon.
