Curse of the Rat: The Black Death
Starting with the fact that the Bubonic plague (or "Black Death," as it is commonly known) is a bacterial plague (thought to be, specifically, Yersinia pestis) while the Corona Virus is a viral infection, there are many differences, indeed, between the shocking destruction of life Europe saw in the mid-14th century versus what we are seeing now--At least we hope that is the case.
Nonetheless, it makes for interesting historical context to view the following documentary.
Also note that the Black Death eventually gave rise to The Renaissance in Europe, centered around Florence, Italy, which had lost 50% of its population to the Black Death.
