A Rather Bad Omen

Considering that baseball is, easily, the most "socially-distant" sport of all the professional leagues, all eyes are on Major League Baseball to see if they go ahead and shut the shortened season back down now that several players on the Marlins have the virus and a few games have already been cancelled tonight.

Thus, sports betting plays like DKNG LCA are getting whacked even in a green tape, as fears of a domino effect to the less socially-distant NBA, NFL, and NHL leagues which were fixing to start up soon. Clearly, baseball calling it quits would be an awful omen for sports, sports betting stocks, casinos, and the like.

On the LCA daily chart, below, the online betting arm of Golden Nugget casinos is probing $12 support, below. The sports headlines this week will put that to test, and it is tough to be too exuberant about buying this dip is baseball throws in the towel.

Elsewhere, the Bitcoin and precious metals' rallies are reflective of the swooning Dollar. Here, again, a busy week of upcoming risk events, be it macro, policy decisions, and loaded earnings figure to add violent swings to this busiest week of summer.
