Both The Fugitive (1993) and In the Line of Fire (1993) were released in the summer of 1993 as Hollywood summer blockbusters. While the former garnered plenty of critical acclaim and fans, I view the latter as the better film.
Clint Eastwood stars as the gruff, old-timer Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan. Horrigan worked for JFK and is haunted by the demons of that fateful day in Dallas. Fast-forward to present day, and Horrigan has his hands full trying to stop John Malkovich as a conniving assassin with his sights set on the current president.
Wolfgang Petersen stays true to form with style of creating suspense in this action-packed thriller.
Of all the movies which repeatedly come on television these days, this one is as hard as any to turn off despite how many times i have seen it.
