If Team Cocoa Gets Going, It's All Over
Considering not only the surge in buy volume on the DBA ETF of late (which tracks a basket of major soft commodities), coupled with DBA breaking above a decisive bottoming formation and remaining stubbornly overbought through this morning's session, the issue becomes if we see cocoa (thinly-traded NIB is an ETN), a soft which has been lagging leaders like beans and sugar, can play catch-up. If so, it will only cement the bull bottom this, and add credence to the notion we are in the early phases of an inflation trade.
Elsewhere, miners and commodity stocks are largely outperforming this morning. They are seeing some intraday whipsaws but I am looking to see if buyers step in to keep them bid.
Overall, despite some glaring weakness in big consumer names like CMG HD LOW SBUX, we are not seeing too much flinching yet on the part of bulls.
